Conditioner Chad Brown is hopeful that Lewis Bay (Bernardini)'s GII Demoiselle S. win is a good indicator of her budding talent. The Alpha Delta homebred graduated in her second start at Belmont Oct. 18 and took Saturday's Demoiselle in her first route.
“I think she learned something going around two turns for the first time, and hope she can improve off that,” Brown said.
The trainer also saddled Flexibility (Bluegrass Cat) and Gift Box (Twirling Candy) to second and third place finishes, respectively, in the GII Remsen S.
“Flexibility and Gift Box, I think, both ran very well,” the trainer explained. “Flexibility had a really good trip, while Gift Box had to overcome a seven-week layoff, which might have been too much for him.”
“All the horses seem to have come back fine so far,” Brown continued. “There's no rush to pick out their next spots, so we haven't made any plans for any of them, other than most of them will be heading to Florida.”
